Our beautiful Erickson tandem has found a new home with some friends down in Florida!
They were the first to express an interest in the Erickson after my posting on the 29th of October and had first refusal rights. After passing detailed sizing information on the frame they decided they’d like to “adopt” and we met down in middle Georgia for the pre-purchase test ride this morning before closing the deal. Interestingly enough, it wasn’t has hard to part with it as I thought. Just glad to know that it will finally get some regular use: great tandems should be ridden not just looked-at and fondled!!!
The Erickson & Bianchi frames along with Debbie’s Ritchey Road Logic have just gone up on ebay, so that will be interesting to keep an eye on. I’ve put reserves on all three just to make sure I don’t inadvertently “fire sale” these bikes given it’s not exactly the right time of year to be selling anything with two wheels!
The Ventana has been given a reprieve pending “one last ride” once our local trail opens back up after on January 1st after the end of hunting season. The triplet is still living in limbo as well: no clear plans exist that would see it being used much which questions any “rationale” for holding on to it. But, well… it’s a really cool bike! Again, we’ll see.
