PennyWise Cycle Tours announces changes; 2013 tour destination
Steve Rabe and Karen Kovacic have agreed to take over the leadership and operation of PennyWise Cycle Tours, effective January 1, 2013.
At the announcement at the beginning of the 2012 tour of the French Atlantic Coast, Steve Rabe and Karen Kovacic commented, “We are committed to continuing, and where possible, adding to the traditions and high service standards established by Rich and Ina.”
Founding operators Rich Wolf and Ina Thompson remarked, “We are delighted that Steve and Karen are taking over, as they share our commitment to providing affordable tandem tours in vibrant and exciting European locales.”
Steve and Karen have been riding and touring on tandem bicycles for over 25 years, including several PennyWise tours and are familiar with the operation, as well as the appeal, of these tours.
PennyWise also announces that Northern Bavaria is the destination for its 14 night, 15 day 2013 tour. This tour starts in Würzburg and ends in Freising, with two nights in each of five charming towns, and three nights in fantastic Rothenburg ob der Tauber. To accommodate expected demand for a tandem cycling tour in this historic and beautiful area, two tour dates have been established:
● Friday, September 6 – Friday, September 20, 2013
● Monday, September 23 – Monday, October 7, 2013
These dates allow participants, should they desire, to participate in Oktoberfest in Munich (München) which begins Saturday, September 21, 2013.
Steve, Rich, and Ina designed the 2013 tour and both couples will be active in the planning and operation of that tour. Rich and Ina will continue in an advisory role to Steve and Karen after 2013.
Despite higher costs in the Bavaria region we are remaining true to the PennyWise philosophy; per day cost is the same as for the 2012 tour.
Cost for the tour is $2,995 per person. Registration is now open to past participants.
Registration for others will open October 15.
Each tour is limited to 20 couples.
