Under the glow of Sunday’s morning sun, some 55 couples savored the fresh autumn air on bicycles built for two.
Some came from as far as Idaho and New Hampshire to take part in the Florida PANTHERS Tandem Rally 2011, a weekend event, where the tandem bicyclists began a mass start from the Waterfront Inn at Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages, before splitting off between a short 29-mile ride or a longer one at 41 miles.
The day before, some rode the 62-mile route and were thrilled to spot a couple black bears near the Ocala National Forest.
