Distractions… Much Needed

To our regular readers, we’re still in the game but have throttled-back a bit on blogging over the past couple of weeks while attending to some other things.

As you can see from the last entry, we’re making updates to our website, www.thetandemlink.com as the 2012 tandem rally dates and locations begin to be available.

This should be a quiet weekend on the blogging front and/or will include some non-tandem cycling content as we’re headed to our first-ever motorcycle (rally?): Thunder Beach down in Panama City Beach, Florida.  It should be interesting and will hopefully provide both of us with a much needed break in our routine of late.

About TG

I've been around a bit and done a few things, have a couple kids and a few grandkids. I tend to be curmudgeonly, matter-of-fact and not predisposed to self-serving chit-chat. Thankfully, my wife's as nice as can be otherwise we'd have no friends. My interests are somewhat eclectic, but whose aren't?

Given the Harley clothing color scheme, one could say that you have gone over to the dark side. Hope to see you soon back on the lighter spandex side!

      … and loving it!!

But thankfully not really at a detriment to tandem cycling. We’re still trying to work out the kinks in our schedules so that we get enough saddle time on the pedal bikes, but the H-D has really been a wonderful new addition to our social lives that has added a bit of spice and variety into what has been a pretty one-dimensional routine for the past 13 years.

Gone are the days when we had a very close-knit group of local riding companions who hit the road every Sunday, with single club rides on Saturdays, so riding solo on most weekends was getting old. Again, this H-D thing has been a very nice distraction and an expanded circle of friends who have very diverse interests.

We hope to be riding “two-up” for many years to come, under our own power and with a little ‘umph’ behind us as well.

Have a great time at Thunder Beach!! We have a number of ride (bicycle) friends who will be there for the motorcycle experience. The weather is fabulous. Of course, we’ll be out on the bike Saturday and Sunday before next weekend’s Blackwater Heritage Century in Milton, FL.
