Well, we found enough time to get out for at least one short ride this weekend on Saturday morning, so it’s a step in the right direction. Still need to get ourselves signed up for a couple of fall events here in the next week, but struggling to find the motivation.
Our Government… Fire ’em all.
The bright spot in our lives at the moment. Had a nice ride together on Saturday morning, had a nice solo ride Saturday afternoon and spent an hour or so test riding a Street Glide & Road Glide touring bike with my local H-D dealer’s Sales Consultant Brian. Went out riding with another friend on Sunday afternoon and had a great, relaxing time and then topped off the weekend with a final ride to dinner tonight with Debbie.
Had a bad case of upgrade fever for a Road Glide Custom over the weekend while having visions of heading off for month-long trips exploring the U.S. and then came back to reality when I remembered that we hardly even have time to do anything except on weekends in between household chores and other commitments, never mind riding our tandem. So, after this afternoon’s 50-mile ride around Cobb County with David, I think I’ve gotten past the urge to splurge and will be more than happy to keep riding my BMW R1100S to work every day while making due with the Wide Glide for our weekend M/C outings. Just need to figure out how to add some storage capacity to the Wide Glide without spending as much on upgrading it as a bagger would have cost… that was also part of the equation. At the rate we were going with making changes to the Wide Glide, a Road Glide Custom was starting to look like a better, cheaper alternative: who knew?
