This is the fourth of four parts of our TTR report. You can find the other parts here: Thursday - Friday - Saturday - Sunday. Additional photos to be added once they become available.
It was a wash-out…
Yup, not much to report here. We woke up to find that a steady light rain had been falling through the early morning, soaking the roads and making for what would have been a lousy day in the saddle for a multi-day cycling event where the primary purpose is socializing.
This made for a leisurely breakfast, followed by packing and then an hour or two of socializing and saying goodbye to good friends at the entrance to the hotel before we packed it in and headed for home.
The rain stayed with us for most of our drive back to Atlanta so the triplet was going to need some attention, if only to replace the wax chain lubricant that would have certainly been washed away by the 70 mph power washing the chainsreceived sitting up on top of the truck.
Once we were home and unpacked the triplet was quickly serviced, cleaned and put back into storage until the next opportunity for three-up riding presented itself and that was that.
Rally weekend over. Can’t wait for next year.
As for Crawdad, he continues to bounce back and is doing well. An amazing outcome for what started off with some ominous potential consequences.
Mark, I’m glad to hear your friend “Crawdad” is doing well on his recovery. That was an awful accident. Thanks for sharing the link to the newspaper report. Other than the accident and the Sunday rainout, it sounds like it was another successful TTR. Again, thanks for sharing the moments through your blog.
Regards,
Kevin
Since reading a note from Ross and Sharon about the accident, I’ve been wondering how “Crawdad” and his wife were doing. Then I remembered your blog and was delighted to read that he is “bouncing back”. Thanks.
